Camera & microphone — the short version

Spiner's face detection runs entirely on your computer. The app looks at each camera frame only for the instant it takes to find your face, and the feed is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. We do not collect any data from your device's camera or microphone. This is verifiable behavior: the app makes no network calls carrying image data.

What we do collect

  • Account data — your email address and a password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, Supabase), used to sign you in and manage your subscription.
  • Subscription status — whether your trial or plan is active, so the app knows what to unlock. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
  • Device identifier— a one-way hash derived from your computer's name and network address, used to prevent free-trial abuse and enable sign-in security. It cannot be reversed into personal information.
  • Website basics — if you contact us we receive your name, email and message; our hosting provider logs IP addresses and browser types as virtually all websites do.

What stays on your device

Your calibration baseline, trigger distance, reminder schedule and app settings are stored locally on your computer and are not synced to our servers.

Third parties

We share personal information only with the processors needed to run the service — Supabase (authentication & database, EU region), Stripe (payments) and Resend (transactional email) — or when legally required. We do not sell personal data.
